Millennial Women in Leather — A New Tailoring

There was a time when a woman in a leather jacket was either borrowing one from a boyfriend or wearing a deliberately oversized statement. That moment has passed. The women we dress today choose leather the way they choose a tailored suit — for fit, for line, for the quiet authority of the silhouette.

1. The Cropped Biker, Reimagined

The cropped biker remains the most flattering shape in our women's collection — but the version we cut today is a long way from the boxy, hardware-heavy original. Sleeve heads are softened. Lapels are scaled down. The waist is given a gentle nip rather than a tight belt.

The result is a piece that works equally well over a silk midi dress at dinner and a fine merino crewneck on a Saturday morning.

2. The Long Line, The Quiet Coat

For women who want the warmth and presence of leather without the rebellion, our longline coats borrow the language of tailoring. Single-breasted, knee-length, no visible hardware. They sit beautifully over a workwear suit or a slip dress, and they soften — slowly, beautifully — across hundreds of wears.

These are the pieces we see worn into important rooms. They are also the pieces women come back to thirty years later, asking us to refresh the lining.

3. The Skirt, The Trouser, The Whole Wardrobe

Beyond jackets, our women's leather extends to high-waisted A-line skirts, pleated midis, and cigarette trousers cut from the softest lambskin. Worn together — leather on leather — they read as quiet luxury, not costume. Worn separately, they slip into any wardrobe.

The trick, always, is one piece of leather at a time, balanced against something soft: silk, fine wool, cashmere.

4. Caring for Lambskin

Women's leather, particularly lambskin, is more delicate than the heavy steerhide of a men's biker — but it rewards careful handling with a patina that is almost impossibly soft. Brush, wipe, and condition exactly as you would a heavier hide, but use a third less of everything. The leather is thinner; it asks for less.

Avoid carrying a structured handbag on the same shoulder for hours at a time — the strap will leave a permanent line. Alternate shoulders, or carry by hand. Your jacket will thank you in twenty years.
